Yum! I also added carrot and capsicum, chopped it in the bowl (3 sec, sp 5) and sautéed for an extra 3 min before adding mince. Also didn't add chilli for the kids. The adults just stirred chilli sauce into their own mix. So delicious. Thank you!

Delicious! Was a little wary of cooking the mince in the thermie but it turned out really well. I added half of the San choy bau packet mix that came with the mince. Would love to double the recipe next time so we can have left overs! Thanks for sharing, this will be a regular in our house.

Nice flavour, I think the recipe should be edited at the end of step 1 to say remove from bowl and set aside. I also added carrot. Overall I would make it again,

Just finishing this off now. I added the seasoning mix that comes with pork mince at woollies too. We sprinkle fresh shallots on ours when we have it normally, so I've left that out of the cooking process. I also use vermicelli noodles when ever I make this, so I've done that too. It's very tasty thanks, just a little too wet so needed to reduce on stove too

This is a quick and easy recipe.  Great idea for week nights when you need something quick and easy to whip up.  I will definitely make again but next time I think I might add some veggies (maybe carrot).  It just needed something a little extra.

LOVE this recipe - even my kids love it! When I buy the pork mince from Woolies, it comes with a little sachet of san choy bow seasoning and I throw that in at the same times as the mince for an extra-robust flavour.

Yum! Call me silly, but didn't realise I had to set the sesame seeds aside once roasted and wasn't sure when to add the sesame oil so did that when I added the water chestnuts. It was still delicious!! Thank you - will make it again (maybe slightly differently)!

    SAN CHOY BAU = YUM!

Thanks for sharing your recipe. I made it last night. As I like chili I sprinkled some fresh pieces on top with some spring onion and drizzled on a little lime juice. I did omit the bean shoots.

The end result was very tasty with a lovely combination of flavours.

    Submitted by mel_b on 28. April 2015 - 21:35.

Delicious!! It had amazing flavours & loved the mix of textures with the mince & water chestnuts. The kids & hubby LOVED it! Omitted chilli in the recipe (had it chopped on the side afterwards for the adults) for the kids tastes. Didn't have green onion so left out & forgot to add the julienned cucumber/bean sprouts ... Next time! Cut the water chestnuts finely & added the sesame oil with the other sauces. Thank you for sharing this gem, will make this one again for sure.

    Submitted by Laura.S on 12. March 2015 - 20:36.

This was a great meal, enjoyed by the whole family.  I didn't add much chilli and I bulked it up with some grated zucchini and carrot (added when the mince went into the bowl). I also added chopped coriander with the shallots.  I added the sesame oil in the step with the sauces (not sure if this is correct though).  Will definitely be appearing on our meal plan on a regular basis!

I've made this heaps now but still pan frying (not a massive fan of meat in the thermie). But.......I gave it a go........it does lose a little flavour but I cooked it a little longer and added a couple of tbsp of home made sweet chilli and some coriander with the shallots.  I won't be pan frying again.
