Indian Rissoles

  • 750 grams lamb mince
  • 1 brown onion, quartered
  • 5 sprigs fresh mint, leaves only
  • 1 lemon, rind and juice
  • 75 grams everyday curry paste, mild or hot (your own choice)

      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid.       If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:

Recipe's preparation

  1. Add 1 slice of bread into your bowl (roughly torn in pieces)
  2. Add 1 brown onion (quartered)
  3. Add 5 sprigs of mint (leaves only)
  4. Grate for 15 sec/speed 7
  5. Now add a pinch of black pepper
  6. Add rind of 1 lemon (no white pith)
  7. Add 75g Curry Paste
  8. Next add your mince
  9. Add 1 egg
  10. Mix for 15 sec/speed 6
  11. Using 1/4 cup as a guide use mixture to form 16 balls and place each into on a flat tray or dinner plate. As you make each flatten slightly.
  12. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes
  13. Preheat a greased pan on low-medium heat (with olive oil or canola spray)
  14. Cook, turning occasionally, for 12-15 minutes or until cooked through. Transfer to a food warmer or Thermoserver to keep warm. Serve with naan and tzatziki.
