This is delicious! I read all the comments but kept a close eye when whipping - ended up whipping for 6 minutes so I guess it depends on the cream, the weather & how whipped you want it! Thank you for a fabulous recipe

    Submitted by knittercook on 1. August 2017 - 09:28.

There is no need to whip for 4 minutes, I have been making condensed milk ice cream for years, pre Thermomix as well. I mix everything together until soft peaks and freeze, perfect every time. I like the ratio of this recipe as my original recipe was 1 tin of condensed milk to 600 grams of cream which was very sweet, this recipe is perfect.

I now make my own condensed milk using raw sugar which is lovely.

  • It looked lovely and creamy

    Submitted by thermo-chum on 24. September 2016 - 20:42.

It looked lovely and creamy going into the freezer, but set solid as a rock. If you can suggest how to make it scoopable, I would love to know your methods.

  • I was disappointed with this

    Submitted by krock on 10. April 2016 - 09:07.

I was disappointed with this ice cream. I followed the recipe and beat the mixture for 2 minutes 30 seconds so it would not turn into butter. It has been in the freezer overnight and now it is really solid and a little icy. It also leaves a greasy feeling in my mouth.

    Submitted by taylorclan on 26. February 2016 - 21:32.

Yummy! Just made this and everyone loved it, now to see what it is like once it is frozen.  A bit sweet for my liking so might cut down the condensed milk a bit next time.  Much cheaper than buying it and I know what is in it.

Kids went to get some the next night but it was frozen solid and we couldn't get it out of the container.  Any ideas!!

  • great simple recipe, but we

    Submitted by born2shop on 16. January 2016 - 10:14.

great simple recipe, but we had to try twice as the first time it spilt into butter. All was not lost however as we stirred in some chocolate and had it on our pancakes the next morning! On our second try we whipped everything in 30 second lots and stopped when it looked like the picture (around the 2:30 mark) I would recommend this method instead of just mixing for 4 minutes to avoid the mixture splitting. Overall this is a great recipe and the ice cream tastes great!

This is amazing!!! I made two batches. First one I added vanilla bean paste and second I added chocolate condensed milk instead of normal condensed milk. This is going to be a hit with the family. Thanks so much for sharing !

  • I was bitterly disapointed

    Submitted by D_Carrimko on 26. September 2015 - 19:28.

I was bitterly disapointed with my first try, it turned to butter.

attempt #1 total falier attempt #1 total falier
it started to turn to butter did not turn to whiped cream consistency, went from runny to butter at the 3 minute mark.

attempt #2 semi success attempt #2 semi success
I was afraid it would turn to butter again so i left it at this consistency and just froze it. I mixed in crushed oreos so hopefully it will turn out once it freezes.

    Submitted by bos on 14. September 2015 - 01:42.

I just ended up making butter as 4 Minutes was way to much. It started turning into butter within a couple of minutes and I was just to late.

    Will try again another time.

  • I just did it and it turned

    Submitted by Liv1 on 5. June 2015 - 13:54.

I just did it and it turned out beautifully.... I whipped it for a minute before I started pouring in the condensed milk and then I stopped a tiny bit before it looked like the picture as I was petrified it would split. it was holding its shape and had a lovely texture. I only used 750g of cream.

its now freezing for the dinner I'm having for my older bros birthday tonight! It'll go well with my mum's mud cake.

    Submitted by Shazrules on 3. May 2015 - 15:20.

Best ice cream ever - great taste.  I also think would be great to use as a "base" for flavoured ice creams by adding chopped chockies, nuts, etc.

    Congrats on a great recipe.
