Marilyn's Tomato Relish
- 1kg tomatoes
- 3 Medium onions
- 1/2 level tbsp salt
- 250g sugar
- 200ml malt vinegar
- 1/2 level tbsp curry powder
- 1/4 level tbsp wholegrain mustard
- 4 pinch cayenne pepper
- 1 level tbsp flour
- 2 heaped tablespoons water

For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl. -

If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:

Recipe's preparation
- Slice tomatoes in half and place in the bowl.
- Peel and slice onions in half and add to tomatoes in bowl.
- Chop on speed 5 for 5 seconds.
- Add the rest of the ingredients except the flour and water.
- Cook for 15 minutes/100 degrees/speed 2/reverse.
Prepare jars and sterilse. - Mix flour and water well, add it to the Thermomix, then cook for a further 15 minutes/100 degrees/speed 2/reverse.
- Done! Pour into jars.
