      TM 5
If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

This is so good. I actually needed to double the recipe again to put in one tin (yes it’s huge!) and cooked beautifully at 160 for about double the time.

    Hi,

I am wanting to make this cake for a birthday on Monday. If I was to make the cake on Saturday what would be the best way to store it? In an air tight container in the fridge or just in an air tight container?

Any advice would be appreciated Smile

MammaDee: Thank you for your adaptation of the ingredients! They worked perfectly for me (although thermie was full to the brim!). I did need to mix the ingredients for much longer than the 20 seconds suggested in the recipe method though. I divided the mixture between two round 20cm cake tins which worked well.

Delicious! Made half mixture for my grandsons 4th birthday cake. Enjoyed by all. Iced with a chocolate icing, put kit Kats around the edge, and topped with crispy and mini M&Ms. will definitely be making again.

Great recipe I have a similar non thermie recipe which was my kids favouite cake recipe when they were growing up. It takes quite a while to make and this one tastes just the same and made in minutes so thanks for sharing. Used your recipe to make my grandsons 1st birthday cake today and my kids gave it the tick of approval.

  • This is a great fudge cake!

    Submitted by MammaDee on 16. July 2016 - 09:07.

This is a great fudge cake! Reading the previous comments, and having a TM31, I adjusted the ingredients to be 3/4s of the original so it would fit in the bowl. Worked great and I had 1 X large loaf cake and 8 X medium-sized cupcakes. Here are the quantities:

3 eggs, dash vanilla, 25g White vinegar, 425g water, 345g butter

    360g flour, 375g sugar, 65g cacao, 1.5tsp baking powder, 1.5tsp baking soda

    Thanks for the recipe!

    Submitted by mincster on 8. March 2016 - 17:45.

Wow, this was seriously the yummiest chocolate cake!! I made it for my SIL's birthday, and it made 2 cakes, so now I have one in the freezer ready for the next celebration! I didn't realise until after I started that this recipe for a TM5, and I have TM31, and it literally filled to the brim of the bowl!! Lol! So I had to do a bit of manual stirring first to get it down a bit, but otherwise it was easy and SOOO YUMMY!! I made the chocolate frosting from the EDC for icing. Double YUM!

Really had my doubts about the quantities when I started making this cake! But it turned out absultely delicious. Will make again for sure. It would make a very large cake. Made  2 loaf cakes and what was left over into a few muffins...
