If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation
Grease 2 'nut loaf'- roll tins.
Add dates to Thermomix. Chop using turbo 2 seconds twice. This is very loud.
Add butter, sugar and water. Cook 5 minutes, 100*, .5 reverse speed.
Cool. Turn oven to 180*C.
When mixture has cooled. Sift in flour and bicarb soda. Add egg. Mix reverse 2.5 for 1 minute.
Add in walnuts. Mix in reverse 2.5 for 30 seconds.
Pour mixture evenly between tins. Bake upright in oven for 30-40 minutes.
Remove from oven and let stand for 10 minutes before cooling on wire rack.
Serve with butter.
Freezes well.
