Recipe's preparation

    pre-heat oven to 200 deg Celsius
  1. [color=#1d2129; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif]Add flour and butter to the Closed lid. Chop for 7sec at speed 6. It will look like breadcrumbs.[/color]
  2. [color=#1d2129; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif]Add milk and salt. Mix for 5 sec at speed 6.[/color]
  3. [color=#1d2129; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif]Add dates and Dough modefor 30 seconds.[/color]
  4. [color=#1d2129; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif]Remove from Closed lidand gently flatten.[/color]
  5. [color=#1d2129; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif]Cut out 12 scones and brush with a little milk.[/color]
  6. [color=#1d2129; font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif]Bake for 20 minutes until golden brown. Bake a couple of minutes longer if needed. [/color]

Tip

Omit dates if you do not like them. You can also add chocolate chips instead of the dates.

Make sure the scones are packed closely together on the baking tray before baking so that they rise beautifully.

    These were very tasty with some jam & cream - yes, I made one batch, some with & without dates. I’ve never made scones before & I left them in the oven longer than I should (got distracted!) so they’ve now got a nice crunchy top & bottom 😄 Will definitely make again though.
