I used 1 large egg and the dough didn't come together. In fact it was the consistency as breadcrumbs. I added an extra large egg which binded it together perfectly.

Apart from that it's an amazing recipe that really tastes like oreo's.

    Thanks Cooking 7

I needed to add an extra egg but I think that is because it was a smallish egg! Like others I had to do sp 6 to bring it all together and next time I mill the sugar down a little tmrc_emoticons.)

Overall a very good recipe and I will be making again - my son loved them tmrc_emoticons.)

  • Erica's Home Made Oreo

Submitted by Erica Noble on 17. June 2013 - 17:12.

Erica's Home Made Oreo Cookies Erica's Home Made Oreo Cookies
One of my customers made these on the weekend but had trouble with the mixture being crumbly and dry after kneading so I took it upon myself to do some "recipe testing" as it was a chocolate biscuit kind of day here in Hobart tmrc_emoticons.) I found the same - even though the butter was definitely at room temperature and was nice and "plastic", kneading the mix for 1 minute produced a dry, crumbly texture so I mixed it on Speed 6 until the sound changed and the dough held together when squeezed. This took maybe 20 - 30 seconds extra and worked a treat! Next time I would mill the sugar to castor sugar as the texture of the biscuit was a bit grainy.Delicious biscuits though! Very happy with the result. They will go down a treat at canoe polo tonight tmrc_emoticons.)

I made these today for my two boys. They loved them. They are quite large though, so do just make it a small teaspoon of mixture if you want "normal" sized Oreos.  Jacqui

  • I don't think these biscuits

    Submitted by nbowilson on 15. March 2013 - 13:01.

I don't think these biscuits will last long enough to add filling, and they are so sweet that for my kids I don't think I'd want to add more sugar  tmrc_emoticons.).  My mixture didn't form a dough, more like a crumbly mixture, so I added a little bit more butter, still crumbly but at least I could get it to stay together. I also used normal cocoa, but used my darker one (have light and dark).

I will definitely make these again, thank you!

    Expect a miracle.....
