We make these and call them "breakfast biscuits" because they're great for breakfast on the go. Omit the brown sugar and use dates.

Yum thankyou, weve made these quite a few times. Easy recipe to follow. The only thing I would say it to but tablespoons of the dough instead of quarter cups.

  • Quick easy recipe. I halved

Submitted by Shady Lady on 20. June 2016 - 10:42.

Quick easy recipe. I halved the sugar, used sultanas instead of raisins, added some coconut (a handful) and made smaller (used tablespoons instead 1/4 cups). Came out great - thank you.

  • Yummy! I only used the 200gm

    Submitted by Lansie on 10. May 2016 - 10:59.

    Yummy!

I only used the 200gm brown sugar as I didnt have any raw sugar and sultanas instead of raisins and they turned out a treat!

Made 18 very generously sized biscuits, will make them smaller next time for a more appropriate lunch box size.

  • Made these tonight - left out

    Submitted by BellaG on 15. February 2016 - 22:28.

Made these tonight - left out the raw sugar, 200g of brown sugar is more than enough sugar and changed the fruit to a mix of raisins and cranberries.  Baked a good 15 minutes - makes about 20 good sized biscuits.  Good snack biscuit for lunch boxes.

  • These are very good, however,

    Submitted by vjm123 on 31. October 2015 - 09:05.

These are very good, however, I don't undersstand your instruction where it says "measure out using 1/4 c. onto the baking sheet" you only got 8 cookies on the sheet? I had room for about 16. Why not just say "drop from teaspoon on the sheet"?

  • Great recipe thanks.  I love

    Submitted by bonnielees on 25. July 2014 - 22:02.

Great recipe thanks.  I love the spices combined with the raisins and will make them again.  Next time I won't add as much sugar as I found them very sweet and a little grainy.

  • I had 100g dark chocolate I

    Submitted by digibron on 8. June 2014 - 22:49.

I had 100g dark chocolate I wanted to use up so I substituted 100g of the oats with chopped chocolate but I think it needs all the oats to hold it together: the end result tasted okay (good reviews from my friends!) but was more florentine-like than cookie-like (kinda thin, sugary, a bit too crunchy). Next time I would substitute part of the raisins instead, maybe 100g raisins + 100g chocolate, and probably cut down on the sugar to 200-250g overall. Or just follow the recipe as intended. tmrc_emoticons.) I also used buttermilk instead of normal milk because I had a little bit left over that I needed to use up.
