Basic Pumpkin Puree

Ingredients

1 litre(s)

  • 1 litre water, (room temperature)
  • 1 butternut pumpkin, (skin on)

Recipe's preparation

  1. Wash butternut pumpkin and cut off the hard ends leaving the rest of the skin on.

     

    Slice pumpkin lengthways into halves. Scoop out pumpkin seeds with a spoon.

     

    Cut both pumpkin halves lengthways into halves again and then slice each pumpkin quarter into large pieces.

     

  2. Add water into mixing bowl and place Mixing Bowl Lid and Veroma Dish into position. Add pumpkin pieces into Veroma Dish and close it with Veroma Lid.

     

    Cook 25 minutes / Veroma / speed 2.

     

     

  3. Carefully take off Veroma Lid and place it upsidedown on kitchen bench. Take off Veroma Dish and place it on the Veroma Lid.

     

    Pour water out of mixing bowl. Add cooked pumpkin pieces into mixing bowl. Blend 20 sec / speed 5.

     

    Scrape down sides of mixing bowl and blend 60 sec / speed 10.

     

    Use pumpkin puree in your baking/cooking as required.

Tip

This pumpkin puree is suitable for Paleo Recipes such as Pumpkin Spice Loaf as well as baby food.

 

Store in airtight glass jars in the fridge or in the freezer.

    I found 25 minutes wasn't long enough. And I cut the pumpkin peices smaller.
