Chai Sugar

Chai Sugar

  • 120 g vanilla sugar, homemade, Or 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1/2 level tsp cardamom seeds
  • 1/2 level tsp Nutmeg
  • 1/2 cinnamon quill, Or 1 tsp of ground
  • 3 whole cloves
  • 3/4 level tsp ground ginger
  • 4 black peppercorns
  • 1/2 vanilla pod, dried out from vanilla sugar jar, if desired

Recipe's preparation

  1. Add all ingredients and mill for 1 min sp 10.

    This makes one cup of Chai Sugar, keep it in a sealed jar and use as required.

    I add one teaspoon of this chai sugar to my tea for a quick and easy cheats chai tea without all the floaties or sludge on the bottom.

    This sugar is also great on top of tea cakes or custard etc.

Accessories you need



To make your own home made vanilla sugar just add a couple vanilla pods- (sliced lengthways and opened up) into a jar of sugar and shake every now and then to help it permeate through the jar over a few weeks/ months. When a pod is all dried out I add it to this mix for extra vanilla flavour but you can omit or adjust the mix to your liking.
