Creamed Corn

Print:
4

Ingredients

1 litre(s)

You will need:

  • 400 – 450 gram fresh cooked corn kernels., It is about five or six ears of sweet corn (you can use frozen kernels if you prefer, just cook it)
  • 50 gram Butter, (1 Tablespoon)
  • 50 gram flour, (1 Tablespoon)
  • 500 gram Milk, (2 Cups)
  • 15-40 gram sugar, (to taste)
  • salt and pepper to taste
5

Recipe's preparation

    How to:
  1.

    1.      Cook or steam corn, and then cut kernels off the cobs.  Use a spoon to scrape the cobs to remove any remaining pulp.

    2.      Place butter, flour, milk, sugar, salt and pepper into TM bowl and cook for 7 minutes/90degrees/speed 4.

    3.      Add in half the corn, and blend for 15 seconds, speed 5-6.  This is to break up the kernels so you don’t have only whole corn in your mix.

    4.      Switch to counter-clockwise operation, speed 3, and add the rest of the corn.  Mix until incorporated.

Tip

Store in fridge, and enjoy!  At this stage, don’t taste it, because you may not stop. tmrc_emoticons.-)  It is yummy on a slice of toast with black pepper as a light lunch (grill cheese on top), lovely as a side dish on its own, and of course in my recipe for Corn Bread.

i Made this to use in a recipe and it will now be a staple in our house - I used what I needed for recipe and ate the rest 😂 it’s amazing - so easy and simple to make, I used a drained can of corn kernels and 30g of sugar and it tastes perfect, nice and thick and gets thicker as it cools, if you don’t eat it first!

    Submitted by Lauren80 on 12. August 2015 - 13:21.

Yummy, used canned corn so didn't have to precook corn. Only used 15gm sugar and felt it was nicely sweet - possibly because the canned corn is stored in sugar? Anyway, also using in a soup recipe as can't eat canned cream corn due to sodium content.

YUM!!! Delicious! I tried it, used frozen corn kernels for the recipe and it turned out perfectly!  Now I'm going to make the corn bread.  This is well worth trying.  It's very quick, and so much better than creamed corn from a can... And you can have it faster than it takes to go to the shop and buy it. tmrc_emoticons.)
