I am another TM5 owner that has scales that suddenly don't work. No error message, just stays at 0 when i add ingredients etc. I don't transport the Thermi around at all and use it about once every couple of days for basic cooking - it just sits on the counter. I have done all the recommended steps (clean the feet, on solid flat surface, electric cord fully extended etc.) it has always worked before until now. Please can you get someone to help/call me? The kitchen beast is a little useless without functioning scales.
Sorry to hear about the error you are having with your TM5 scales. We have flagged your post with our Customer Service Team and a member of the team will be contacting you directly to assist.

TM5
My scales aren't working at all.
Have tried all the suggested ideas to get them going. (Unplug, clean the feet etc.)
I bought a travel bag and slide board after the last time they stopped working. I haven't used the bag yet though and the thermomix hasn't moved off the slide board on the bench since the last time. (Still has the service tag on the cord from January 2018!!!) I am the only person who uses the machine.
Most likely out of warranty now - annoying - Can someone contact me please so I can get them fixed again?
Thanks
I'm so frustrated with my TM5. This is the 3rd time my thermomix scales have stopped working. Twice it had to be sent back to be recalibrated. It was still under guarantee then. Its no longer under gurantee. I'm quite disappointed considering how expensive these machines are! Will I recommend thermomix - no!

SCALES JUMPING ALL OVER THE PLACE: Can Thermomix advise please on how much it costs to reset the scales please. On a side note with the volume of complaints and failure of this product do you think it might be worth doing a recall? Its very sad to see so many failure and this is from the people who bother to post.

My scales have stopped working - altentating between zero and max. I have checked the rubber stoppers, unplugged the thermomix from power supply but still not working.
Sorry to hear you are experiencing issues with your scales.
We have passed your post onto our Customer Service team. However in the meantime, if you haven't already, you can try these steps:
¨ Check that your bench is flat and the machine is not sitting on a join. Ensure the bench is solid and doesn’t rock.
¨ Check the 3 rubber scale sensors (the feet) under the machine to ensure they are clean and there is nothing stuck to them i.e. a grain of rice, sugar.
¨ Check the power cable is fully extended from the machine. Approximately 1 metre. This is extrememly sensitive.
¨ Check the power cable or other items are not touching the machine or tucked under the machine. The cable is extremely sensitive.
¨ Turn the Power off and remove the plug, then when ready to test, plug it in and turn on the machine.
¨ Zero scales and place a full 1kg packet of rice/flour/sugar (i.e. something with a known weight). The scales should show weight of product plus packaging weight. Do not use canned goods.
¨ After 10 minutes, repeat the above test, use a different product if possible.
¨ Note – when pushing the scale/tare button, be sure that you are not touching the machine with your other hand.
¨ Record the weights of the original items, their states weights
It does help to give the technicians as much information as you can provide, so as to help them in the diagnosis and repair of your machine.
Please note there could be a variance of 10 – 20 grams (up or down) from the stated weight due to calibration tolerances set by Vorwerk.

Same issue here: my TM5 is 7 months old, bought from Germany and scales are not working. First they started jumping all over the place, and now they are not responding at all. I am currently based in Bulgaria.
Please let me know, how you will resolve the issue. The usual "customer service will call you" is not a satisfactory response. It looks like you have this happening all the time and globally and I would like to know how you have resolved the issue before and how exactly you will proceed in my case.
Thank you,
Albena
P.S. I tried all suggestions given in this forum and the problem persists. Clearly it's a software/manufacturing issue that needs a technician. Please let me know how you are going to fix this.
