For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl. -

If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:

Recipe's preparation
- Add 4 Cinnamon quill, 2 tsp Cardamom pods, 4 Star Anise, 2 tsp cloves and 50g fresh ginger (sliced) into mixing bowl and biltz for 5sec/speed6
- Add 600g brown sugar and 300g water and cook for 20min/100C/speed 1.5. Replace MC with simmering basket. Pour everything into sealable container and let it rest overnight.
- Pour the syrup through a nut milk bag back into the mixing bowl and cook 5min/100C/speed 1. Pour finished syrup into sterilised bottles (approx 300ml each)
- Use syrup as desired. 1 tbsp into the tea of your choice, hot milk or coffee.
