Salmon and Potato Bake

  • 1000 grams floury potatoes, cut into 3mm slices
  • 1 red onion cut in half
  • few handfuls of baby spinach
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 Skinless salmon fillets, roughly chopped
  • 200 grams double cream
  • 50 grams Gruyere cheese
  • butter for greasing

      If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

    Salmon and Potato Bake - A filling, budget friendly recipe that will feed four generously.... what's not to like about this salmon recipe?

  2. Preheat the oven to 180C, butter a 1.2L ovenproof dish

     

    Place gruyere cheese into mixing bowl and grate 

    10 sec/speed 7. Transfer into a bowl and set aside.

    Clean and dry mixing bowl.

     

    Place red onion into mixing bowl and chop 

    5 sec/speed 5. Scrape down sides of mixing bowl with spatula.

       

    Add olive oil, insert simmering basket and add a few handfuls of baby spinach, saute 3 min/120C/speed 1

     

    Using the ovenproof dish, layer up the potatoes and onion with the salmon and the spinach, ending with a layer of potato

     

    Pour the cream over the top

     

    Sprinkle with the reserved gruyere cheese and bake for 30-40 minutes, until golden and bubbling
