Quinoa Salad

  • 160g dry quinoa
  • 900g water
  • 1tbsp vegetable stock
  • 50g pecans
  • 70g soy sauce
  • 30g maple syrup
  • 80g pitted dates
  • 1/4 red onion
  • 2tbsp olive oil

      If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 160 degrees.
    Weigh quinoa in simmering basket and rinse. Add water and stock to bowl and insert simmering basket. Cook for 20 minutes, Varoma temperature on speed 3.
    Meanwhile toss pecans in soy sauce and maple syrup and then toast in oven for 10 minutes.
    Place cooked quinoa in Thermoserver to keep warm. Discard water and stock from bowl and dry quickly.
    Add dates and pecan to bowl and chop for 6 seconds on speed 6. Add to Thermoserver.
    Add red onion to bowl and chop for 2 seconds on speed 6. Add to Thermoserver.
    Mix olive oil and lemon juice to Thermoserver and toss through.
    Serve hot or cold.
