So creamy, definitely better using full cream milk. I've made it with low fat too though flavour not as good. I reduced sugar by half and still very sweet. Next time I may reduce sugar to 25g and add sultanas at the end. It's a winner - thank you.

Yummo! I halved the sugar as per most of the comments too and it was just delicious. I also just used long grain rice as that was all I had and just increased the time by 10mins. Will definitely make again!

I have made this about .... 15 times at least. It is my go to, reminds me of mybgrandmother’s Stove top recipe.
i find adding a few mins and leaving it to sit for a few more minutes adds to that final creamy consistency. I have only made using full fat milk but have also substituted a bit of cream with great results. I sometimes lessen the sugar and sometimes add a pinch of salt.
yum. Yum. Yum. Perfect rice pudding!

The first time I made this it tasted good (perhaps a little too sweet though) with a big can of evaporated milk, topped up to get the full amount of liquid required and no sugar but I just coudn't get the medium grain rice to cook out fully even after adding 20 mins to the cooking time. So for the second attempt I soaked long grain rice overnight, used a small can of light and creamy evaporated milk and no sugar. I liked it but decided to add 40 g of brown sugar for the kids (and have to admit I did like this level of sweetness!). Thanks for the recipe - it does take me back to my childhood and canned Ambrosia rice pudding from the UK!

This is a fantastic recipie although we tend to cook it for 60 mins (as there were too many uncooked rice particles - I think due to it taking a while for the 90C temp to be reached).
Kids favourite and make at least once a week! Just like tinned ambrosia but waaaaay nicer as we know what's in it
Thank you!!!
Thank you, have made it twice
Thank you, have made it twice now, second time I used short grain rice as the Oborio didn't seem to cook right through. Also added cinnamon stick.

My kids love this. I add cinnamon and half a can of condensed milk at the completion of cooking. Reminds me of rice cream we used to eat out of the can as a kid, but much nicer.
Delicious and great
Delicious and great consistency. I think I'll try to reduce the sugar next time to see how that goes as it is quite sweet
I used this recipe to make
I used this recipe to make chocolate rice pudding and it turned out great. All I did was replace the vanilla with 1/4 cup of cocoa. next time I'll reduce the sugar amount as mentioned in previous comments as it is very sweet.

Served with a few sliced strawberries which cut down the sweetness. Lots left for brekkie.

Perfect Rice Pudding
Thanks for sharing, this recepie is true to its name and is one of our favourite deserts and so easy to make.
quite a nice flavour but I
quite a nice flavour but I found this recipe a little too sweet and the arborio rice was a too grainy and heavy
I would make it again with following changes.
use basmati or jasmine rice.
Reduce amount of sugar or use brown rice syrup or coconut sugar
also would reduce milk by half and replace with evaporated milk to intensify flavour.
