Family Fave Fish Pie

Ingredients

Creamy cheese sauce

  • 120 g Cheddar cheese
  • 250 g Milk
  • 20 g Butter
  • 40 g plain flour

Base

  • 480 g Salmon fillets
  • 190 g White Fish Fillets
  • 1 carrot roughly chopped
  • 90 g broccoli, broken in to pieces
  • 130 g cauliflower, broken in to pieces

Mashed Potato

  • 600 g water
  • 400 g floury potatoes, Skin off cut in to 2-3cm cubes
  • 2 tbsp Milk
  • 1 tablespoons Butter

Recipe's preparation

  1. Base/Mash

    Grate Cheese- 5 sec/ sp7. Set aside. Rinse bowl.

    Pour water in to bowl, insert basket and add potatoes.

    Place salmon and white fish fillets in to varoma tray.

    Cook for 12 mins/varoma/sp2

    Add vegetables to varoma dish and cook for a further 10 minutes/varoma/sp2

    Check fish and vegetables are cooked to preference.

    Place fish in to baking dish and break gently with a fork.

    Remove simmering basket using spatula and set to one side with vegetables.

    Empty contents of bowl.

    Turn potatoes in to bowl, add milk and tablespoon of butter. Mash 10 sec/sp4.

    Without cleaning the bowl add vegetable to the bowl and chop sp 4/2-5   sec. Pour on top of fish in baking dish.

     

  2. Cheese Sauce

    Preheat oven to 180deg

    Add milk, butter and plain flour to bowl. Cook 6minutes/90deg/sp4.

    Add 60g cheese and cook for a further 1min/90deg/sp4

    Pour over fish and vegetables in baking dish. Top with mash and sprinkle remaining cheese over the top.

    Bake 180deg until golden brown.

    tried it again because it was such a hit last time. Not sure how I got it wrong last time I must have been having a moment. Love it. 

     

    Not bad, loved the mash so easy I think I will use that going forward for just mash rather than the BC method.  Unfortunately being my first go at this I mixed up the order and chopped the vegetables with the mash and added to the bowl and then did the cheese sauce.  It could have been slightly clearer but still not bad.  Thanks.
