Leah's Nourishing Oatmeal
- 1 --- apple, Pink lady, Braeburn, Kanzai/your favourite apple, cored and quartered
- 60 grams oats, quick
- 1.5 tbsp dried cranberries
- 1 heaped tbsp dessicated coconut
- 1 tsp chia seeds
- 1 heaped tbsp LSA
- 4 pinches ground cinnamon
- 220 grams Milk
- 150 grams hot water

- 1. Core & quarter your favourite type of apple. Place in thermomix.
- 2. Put lid & measuring cup in place.
- 3. 4 seconds/speed 4.5
- 4. Scrape down the sides of the bowls.
- 5. Weigh in 60 gms of quick oats.
- 6. Add all other dry ingredients.
- 7. Weigh in 220 gms of milk.
- 8. Weigh in 150 gms of hot water (not too hot).
- 9. Replace lid without the measuring cup. Place simmering basket on top if you like.
- 10. Cook oatmeal: 5:30mins/100°C/speed 2
- 11. Divide between two bowls, and garnish with extra cinnamon.

Customisation Ideas:
-Swap craisins for raisins or other dried fruit
-Add chopped pecans or pepitas
-Swap cinnamon for pumpkin spice
-The more colourful the apple peal the more colourful the oatmeal!
-Increase or decrease the cooking time to achieve the texture of oatmeal you prefer.
-Serve with cinnamon sprinkled on top and extra milk on the side.

For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl. -

Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!
