  • 160 g pitted dates
  • 70 g walnuts, or nuts of choice
  • 185 g sugar
  • 1 tbsp Butter

      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

      If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:

Recipe's preparation

    Date Loaf
  1. In separate bowl, place 1 Cup of boiling water and 1 Tsp Bicarb Soda.
    Weigh dates and add to water mixture, set aside for 30 mins to soak
  2. Weigh Walnuts, chop for 3 seconds, speed 5, set aside.
  3. In Closed lid, place sugar and butter.
    Cream for 1 minute, speed 4.
    Scrape sides, repeat for 20 seconds to incorporate if necessary.
  4. Aside from nuts, add date mix and remaining ingredients to Closed lid.
    Mix for 15 seconds speed 3.5, scrape sides.

    Add nuts and Mix for further 10 seconds, speed 3.
  5. Pour into prepared loaf tin and bake for approx. 45 minutes or until cooked through when tested with skewer.

    Remove from oven and leave in tin for 5 mins, then turn out to cooling rack.
