  • 500 grams Self Raising Flour
  • 1 portion full fat pouring (whipping) cream, 600ml Large Tub
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 dash Milk, (For brushing)

Recipe's preparation

    Scones
  1. Preheat oven 180C / 350F.

    Weigh in 500g SR Flour. Add pinch of salt and 600ml tub cream.  Lock lid and mix for 60 seconds using Dough mode intermittent speed. 

    Tip onto well floured bench and pat down to approx 3cm thickness.  Using a    scone cutter or a glass, cut out approx 12 scones.  Place onto an oven tray lined with baking paper (place scones so their sides are touching).  Brush each  scone lightly with milk.

    Cook for 20 minutes.  Serve warm with TM strawberry jam & whipped cream or TM butter.

    That was insanely easy. The cream replaces butter. Saves rubbing the butter into the flour. I didn't bother with a scone cutter. I simply pulled off balls of dough and placed them next to each other on the tray before baking. Rustic look!

    I made a batch for a TM open day, and they were a great success, with some TM blueberry jam I made 2 weeks ago. Yes it was blueberry picking time in the French Alps, since we are heading out of summer here in the Northern hemisphere!
