Recipe's preparation

    Cake batter
  1. 1. Preheat oven to 175 degree Celcius and spray 9 inch spring-form pan with cooking spray (or lining with baking paper).

    2. Beat 1 cup sugar, butter, vanilla extract and cream cheese on speed 4 approx 50 sec. Add eggs 1 at a time, beating in each egg for about 15 sec each on speed 4.

    3. Combine flour and salt, add this dry mix to cream mixture and beat on speed 5 approx 5 - 10 sec.

    4. Combine the 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon, add this mix to apples and mix to coat.. Stir apple mix into batter. Pour batter (it is THICK) into 9 inch spring form and sprinkle with cinnamon mix.

    5. Bake for 1 hour 15 minutes or until cake pulls away from pan at sides or a toothpick comes out clean. Don't be afraid, it takes a long time to bake, maybe even longer than written here, depends on your oven. If it gets too brown cover it loosely with foil.

A-mazing! I added rhubarb and it was beautiful. I didn't read the note about combining apples and cake mix in a separate bowl until after I had tried to fit the apples into thermie... It is possible but not easy! Great recipe thankyou!
