I doubled mixture and used total 220g sugar. Was still sweet enough. Made 1 low cake and 15 mini cupcakes. I've frozen cupcakes- hoping they'll thaw ok for lunchbox treats. Quick, simple, yum.

  • Lovely flavour. I have to

    Submitted by wendyroo on 2. June 2014 - 11:31.

Lovely flavour. I have to make this again because I found the tin was too small and it rose high in the middle and then split and yes I did use a 20cm tin. I didnt use the full amount off butter or cocoa I think my thermo was a bit out., but lovely texture I think it's a tad sweet but once again that could be the thermomix measurements. Will make again, quick and easy.

    Delicious end product.

May have been my oven, but mine took 55mins to cook ... my oven does have a mind of its own and "it" decides when food is ready, not a recipe!!!

This recipe is almost identical to one I have been making for years, pre thermomix. The only difference is it has a cup of buttermilk instead of water and about 100g of cocoa, very moist cake.. Highly recommended. One of those recipes prepared in a flash.

  • LOVE this!! Made it as

    Submitted by Des N on 10. September 2013 - 11:09.

LOVE this!! Made it as cupcakes and adjusted cooking time accordingly. Mixture was runnier than I would have thought would make a successful cake, but it added to the fluffy softness. Family and friends rave whenever I make this. Thanks for posting the recipe!
