  • 120 g Butter
  • 300 g icing sugar
  • 30 g Milk

Recipe's preparation

    Buttercream Icing
  1. Place Butter and Icing Sugar into TM bowl and mix on Counter-clockwise operation speed 2 for 4 minutes.

    After 15 seconds, add in the milk.

    Use spatula to assist if needed and scrape down the sides of the bowl if required.

Tip

The longer you continue to stir, the paler the butter will get. Feel free to add colour and flavour if wanted.

    So good! I did nudge it up to speed 3 because I'm impatient like that. But it was the lightest buttercream I've ever made. My new favourite recipe. We coloured it & turned it into rainbow icing for rainbow unicorn cupcakes with my 4yo. (Photo is before sprinkles were added)

    To make chocolate butter cream I just added a few small scoops of cocoa. I increased speed to 4 with just over a minute to go. And when finished scraped down and mixed again for 1 minute reverse speed 4. Very nice

    Made triple quantity. Wouldn't recommend doing this though. Had to start with part of the mixture and to it a bit at a time. If I'd remembered to add the milk earlier it would have been easier. This did turn out perfect though.

    I used pure icing sugar or should I have used icing mixture? And should it be sifted?

    This was so quick and easy. I loved it. I added a tablespoon of homemade strawberry jam and it was gorgeous. So many buttercream recipes take ages so this will be my go to recipe in the future. Thank you.

    Made a trial batch of buttercream. I had normal sugar and milled it at 20 seconds, speed 10 to get it to icing consistency. The batch turned out almost perfect in consistency BUT I could taste the gritty sugar particles still. What should I do to make it perfect?! Help please!

    I had to mill the sugar on a faster setting as it it didn’t mill it down on the recommended setting. I also added about 40g of milk as it seemed too thick. Absolutely delicious though!
