Success🎉🎉🎉! Great recipe and quelled my doubt! I did cook for 9 minutes as per a comment recommending to do so. A few of the comments referred to grittiness but mine had a smooth texture. So maybe longer cook (9 minutes) might help with that.

Made this and loved it! Cooked for a further 6 mins as it was still runny but upon cooling it had thickened nicely. Super easy! Never paying $4 a can again!

Absolutely perfect. I have used this for my fudge, African milk tart recipe on RC and in icecream. I will never buy condensed milk again when it is so easy to make with just 4 ingredients. It makes the equivalent of one tin but so much cheaper.

XxxxDear Maryanne, Thank you! For this recipe, when I mentioned to people that I now make my own condensed milk, I became very popular😀 especially with the Senior set, all of whom have fond childhood memories of eating teaspoons of condensed milk as a treat when they were children. Thanks to you and the couple of dozen jars I made, some very happy people enjoyed a nostalgic trip into their childhoods this Chistmas, everyone else just happily scarfed it down😄 cheers Denise

What a great, easy simple receipe. Two batches whipped up quickly. I reduced the sugar to about 100g each time and still super tasty. Better than store brought and I love condensed milk.

I use raw sugar & it works perfectly. It makes a little more than a standard 395g tin.

If a recipe calls for a tin of condensed milk (395g) do I use the same amount of this? Also, can I use raw sugar?

Works every time. This is my go to recipe. I've even used it to make coffee condensed milk to make coffee fudge by replacing the water with a couple of shots of espresso. I find speed 3 works best for the TM5.

Hi! Very glad to have stumbled across this recipe but I do have a question....if I cook it longer does it go a deeper caramel colour like the Nestle Top'n'Fill? I use this often for baking (and have always been afraid to try the boiling the can for 4 hours technique) & I'd love to be able to make it myself for a fraction of the cost. Has anyone tried to cook it longer?

Very impressed with how easy it is!
