Quinoa Porridge with steamed apple

Quinoa Porridge

  • 2 tablespoons Quinoa flakes
  • 1 teaspoon Ghee
  • 2 pods Cardomon
  • 3 cloves
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons Pureed apples, (see Fruit Puree recipe in Everyday Cookbook)

      Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Recipe's preparation

  1. Soak quinoa overnight. Rinse well, drain and set aside.
  2. Add the Ghee to your Thermomix and heat for 2 mins / Varoma Gentle stir setting
  3. Add Cardomon pods, Cloves and Cinnamon and cook 2 mins / Varoma Gentle stir setting
  4. Add drained Quinoa, stewed apples and water and cook 15 mins / 90 Counter-clockwise operation speed 2.


You can also use Buckwheat, Millet or Amaranth. Cooking time may need to be adjusted.
For the Fruit Puree recipe in the EDC, reduce mixing time and/or speed depending on the texture you would like your stewed apples.
