Tip

I really wanted a quick and easy spread that tastes like butter, spreads on easily straight from the fridge, is a little bit healthier than butter, and which has known ingredients without chemicals added - and here it is! After some trial and error I worked out the right proportions. I use light olive oil, but experiment with your preferred oil. I have also used grapeseed oil which works well.

Also, if you are wanting to use up a set amount of butter - you can work out amount of oil by dividing weight of butter by 1.5 -  too easy!

I love this easy recipe & use it all the time. I only use Rice Bran oil as it has no trans fats in it & it works perfectly every time, withno oil taste. It still tastes like real butter. Thanks for sharing this recipe!

Just an update: I've been dividing butter weight by 1.4 to get the oil weight, which is slightly softer especially in Winter. Somewhere between 1.4 and 1.5 depending on room temperature. Also, as more information has come to light regarding seed oils being less healthy, I have been using a combination of macadamia oil and light olive oil. Avocado oil is also a healthy option and tastes great but the butter has a green tinge! Up to you Wink

This is great! I add a 1/4 tsp of sea salt and it tastes just like the expensive spreadable butter from the supermarket, but at half the cost and no added chemical preservatives! Highly recommend!
