A friend calls hers basil.... I was tossing up therman, then Herman....Herman kinda flowed into herbie! But just like a baby want to see if it suits its name when it arrives!

Hi, I am new to the community and to Thermomix cooking. My wonderful daughter bought it for me for my birthday this year. I have called my Thermie ... Nanna. Why ... because growing up my Nanna was the best cook ever and I think my Thermomix comes in at a very close second lol. I am now a first time Nanna so Nanna and I have fun cooking together of a night. Smile

Hermie the Thermie, the newest member of our famiy arrives in an hour and a half. After three years of BEGGING! Hubby came good on my birthday this year. He's earned some serious brownie points Smile

I named mine Ange before I even ordered it (once you name it you have to get it!) After my friend who put me onto Thermomix. In my opinion there is nothing Ange couldnt do in the kitchen and is often helping me with recerpies and ideas, so I figure my Thermomix will be my mini Ange helping me cook!

I have dubbed mine 'Louise'.. Thelma & Louise.. Thermie .. Louise.. :/ haha

Hehe, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who has named her thermomix. His name is Thomas, it's cryptic, my husband refuses to believe how good it is so he is actually the doubting Thomas.

Think I'll call mine ( coming this week yay) Annapurna or "Anna" for short she is the Hindu God of cooking & the kitchen - Perfect!

Ha ha love that I'm not the only crazy person that names household items...my fridge is called Mr Chuckles because of the gurgly, chuckly sounds it makes. I decided that because everyone I knew just called their Thermo's 'Thermie' I would give mine a proper name so I chose Zelda which is German and means 'grey battle maid'. Appropriate for me...#notthebestcook I was going to call it Sheldon (the know-it-all from Big Bang Theory) but decided a German name would be more appropriate. I've only had Zelda a few days so we're still getting to know each other. Happy cooking everybody! Smile

I like the name Bimbi i think i will call mine that too when it arrives tomorrow so excited only one more sleep. Love

I've called mine Tom, mainly to confuse my facebook friends, when I say things like, Tom and I are spending some quality time together, or Tom and I are heating things up LOL

Just a bit of fun, plus too much effort in making something up I would probably forget  hahhahaa

I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of our newest family member. This thread has been very entertaining. Even my hubby is thinking of names now.....

Ours is Thor, God of Thunder...

Maybe ""Therminator""   .... haha

So funny

Since reading this post I started thinking about names.

My hubby thought it sounded like it was going to take off when I was chopping some veggies in it...

Maybe Terminator....

lol

Cheers

I'm hoping to receive my thermie in the next few weeks And have spent the last 5 weeks pondering on names.  The other day i read that in Portugal and Italy the Thermomix was called 'Bimbi'.  Thought that was a cool name, so I think mine will be Bimbi!

My thermomix arrived a few weeks ago and she is now called Stella,  for 2 reason, 1. a stella idea, and 2 after Stella Young who was inspirational to many.

Like The Bush Gourmand, mine will be Hermie, but short for Hermione from Harry Potter, a clever, industrious, organised witch who always seems to get things dome efficiently. Possibly also for Hermes, messenger of the gods and the title of my high school yearbook...

 I love it.

As a Thermomix newby, I'm eagerly awaiting my new TM5.  I think I'm going to call him Arnie as in 'the Therminator'.

What do you think?

Hmm .. and here I was thinking that I am the only one that has names for his gadets...

I will be very soon be announcing the arrival of the newest additon to my family..

Kimmy my new TM5 yes it is named after someone who has less sexy curves and a bigger bottom than my TM5 will soon be joining Betty my Dishwasher..

My Thermie had his name picked out waaaay before I got him (seriously, waaaay before - like 12 months) -

His name is Jamie, as in Jamie Oliver.

There is no way that the real Jamie would appear in sexy person in my kitchen, so I had to name my thermie after him.

Jamie has pride of place in my kitchen of 3 impelements - the 6burner gas BBQ, the little single burner gas stove and my thermie.  I am living in a caravan for the next two years.

So, Jamie will have lots of work to do.  And he has to translate all of "his" cookbooks into TM31 language.

cute Smile

cute

Mine is 'R2'  (short for R2D2 from Star Wars) cause thats just who he looks like when he gets excited while kneeding, wiggling from one side to the other!

My Thermomix has just been delivered.  First recipe kindly demonstrated by my consultant (all ingredients supplied!) I have named her Molly - because that name evokes reliability, warmth and comfort. I can't wait to get to know her properly.

I am also a newbie, as I've only had my baby for 1 week and I'm totally in love. I didn't like to cook until now. I'm calling my Thermomix "Minx" as she is smart and sexy.

  Love

Cute! . . .  and creative

So I have had my Thermomix for 3 days now and he is already truly a part of our family (I figured it was a 'he' because I'm in love!). We have named him 'Steve' as in Steve Jobs the Apple genius, as he can do anything! Even my kids are already asking, "Did Steve make this? It's really good!" LOL

I have just joined the thermomix community and am totally enjoying the journey of food with this incredible machine. The porridge in the morning is the best :D

my husband thought at the beginning that it would mash everything up....due to the noise......however he has tasted several recepies and now enjoys finding out what's on the menu.

Naming it is giving it a place in your home and I think that is a brilliant idea, I was thinking of Vorweck as  possible letters of the word like

rockov

kewov

eckov

oveck

Vork

The last one appeals to me so it's going to be called Vork

I'm expecting my new arrival any day now, I'm thinking about calling it Macgyver?!

I ordered my Thermomix today and am super excited to get to know the newest member of our family so I can choose a suitable name!!!

i like both... but for some reason Mr Magoo is the one i'd go with. Smile

Ours is Jason after our neighbour Jason the chef.  Smile

My 'baby' came just before Christmas and has been given the unofficial name of Gertrude after my first, and favourite, car. Like the original Gertrude, she is very forgiving of this novice driver's errors and she is so much fun to drive!   Glasses

I'm loving the names :p  I've only ordered mine last night ... so might have to consult the kids and come up with a name

Bron

Hmmm ive had my thermie for a couple of months now and still havent named him/her lol , but ive seen this forum and some of the names are great.......so it has got me thinking  .

Now Ive always dreamt of having a butler lol ( a girl can dream u know lol) and i live in Butler WA and thermie is amasing and everytime i make something i go ahhhh thermie you have done it again - which was from Mr Magoo  .....

So not sure which to go with Butler or Mr Magoo? which one you think? Puzzled

OK, just having read a post above, I think I will name mine after a person I use to know who was a great cook from one of the guide dog classes I was in getting my first dog.

I shall name her ... Edwina; I do like that name too. Smile

Lol that's funny; I'd like to name my Thermo after my consultant but I would be embarrassed if it got out to her. .. I will work on coming up with a name though. Smile

I've had mine since just before Christmas and hoping one day a name will come to me because nothing seems right just yet.

I named my Thermomix James....after James Bond...because he can do anything!!!

My new Thermie is on its way. It shall be named Gary! Bigsmile

My baby arrives Friday...to say I'm excited would be an understatement!! :D

Not sure on a name yet...but I'm sure once I get to know him/her the name won't be too far away  Smile

Bec Smile

Hi. I am a newbie. My husband has named ours  T-Rex because it roars and gobbles up things!    Puzzled

My new  helper is called Thelma because the name conjures up an image on an old school cook which is what I've become since she arrived in my kitchen a month ago. I'm now making the most amazing wholemeal loaves, soups, mains etc...........all with the help of Thelma who stirs and kneads while I do other things..... Smile
