Fruit Mix

  • 250 g raisins
  • 250 g sultanas
  • 250 g currants
  • 125 g macadamia nuts, chopped
  • 65 g Rum

Mixture

  • 250 g Butter
  • 125 g brown sugar
  • 1 heaped teaspoons lemon zest
  • 1 heaped teaspoons orange zest
  • 4 eggs
  • 150 g plain flour
  • 1 teaspoons mixed spice
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 125 g soft bread crumbs

      Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Recipe's preparation

    Fruit Mixture
  1. Soak the fruit in rum overnight
  2. Cream 250g butter 1min/speed 3
  3. Add 125g brown sugar, zest. Mix for 30 sec / speed 4. Scrape and repeat
  4. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. In a separate bowl, sift 150g plain flour and 1 tsp mixed spice and 1 tsp ground ginger.
  6. Fold in butter mix. Add 125g soft brown crumbs and marinated fruit and nuts.
  7. Pour into greased pudding basin.
    Place in slow cooker and fill up to halfway the sides of the dish with boiling water.
    Cook on low for 7 hours.
