Gingerbread Syrup

Gingerbread Syrup

  • 240 grams of water
  • 200 grams of golden caster sugar or white caster sugar
  • 30 grams of brown sugar
  • 2 level tablespoons of honey
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 heaped tablespoon of freshly grated ginger
  • 4 Peppercorns
  • 2 whole cloves
  • 1 long strip of orange peel

    Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Recipe's preparation

  1. Place all ingredients into the bowl and heat for 6 minutes, 80 deg, reverse speed 2 - check that all sugars have disolved - add a few more minutes if they have not --- let the mixture cool right down to infuse the flavours. Makes 350mls
    Strain and bottle - keep in the fridge for up to two weeks

    Use for delicious lattes 2 tablespoons per cup, over waffles, pancakes, french toast, icecream etc
