Will it matter if I leave it over night for the first freezing? Also I used thickened cream 😬 can I expect a different result? Thanks!

  • Dear Rhondam,...

    Submitted by edguer on 4. May 2020 - 21:08.

    Dear Rhondam,

I have been away for a couple of years, so could not respond to questions. The recipe is correct and tested at my kitchen for at least 100 times in years. You need to place the ice cream into a container and place it to your freezer. You should take the ice cream out in two hours and fold it with a spoon, then keep in the freezer another two hours. Make sure that your frezer is not stacked.

I will be available to respond to questions from now on.

    Cheers,

    Erhan Edguer

I think my freezer is ok. It’s very liquid so I need to ask a dumb question, it’s definitely 500gm Milk?, it’s says add 250g to mix then you add another 250g right ?

Rhondam: Not sure if my reply first worked so if I am repeating myself, apologies in advance.

In a more Take 2 brief reply to my fist ... I suspect it may be your freezer. It is a softer icecream but not by much. Also, make sure you use full cream milk - not light/lite and it is best left overnight (if you can wait) ... it’s worth the wait.

Absolutely the very best Pistachio Icecream I’ve ever tasted. And way tooooo easy to make. Took the icecream into work to share with my ‘Crash Test Dummies’ tasters and it was a huge hit. Definately going into my ‘Favourites File’.

I too added cardamom and lime zest tmrc_emoticons.) I added just a shake of cardamom and added the zest of 2 limes to sugar and covered overnight. The sugar releases all the Oil from the lime and softens rather zest.
