For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Tip

Chopping:
If you don't feel like chopping the apple by hand - add peeled & cored apple quarters to the Thermomix bowl & blitz on speed 4.5 until chopped to your liking.

Apples: You can use as little, or as much apple as you like - sometimes I add a few apples, sometimes I fill to the max line. Sometimes I even sneak in other fruit like pears or berries!

Optional flavourings, sweeteners & additions: As mentioned, these are optional, & are added to taste. I often add a sprinkle of cinnamon & vanilla. Sometimes a handful of sultanas. If using a sweet apple I don't add a sweetener, but this comes down to personal preference.

Cooking time: Adjust this to suit your preferences. A 10 minute cook time creates a firmer apple (you may notice liquid in the bowl that you can serve with, or drain off). And a 20 minute cook time is great for a very full bowl, or for when you'd like a soft & mushy apple that has reduced right down.
