Silverbeet and Tuna loaf (from Mrs P's mother)

Ingredients

tuna and silverbeet loaf

  • 160 grams brown rice
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tbsp Butter
  • 10-12 leaves silverbeet, not the stalks
  • 1/2 green or red pepper
  • 1 tomato
  • 5 sprigs parsley
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 can tuna, 440g can (or salmon)
  • 40 grams Sweet chilli sauce

Recipe's preparation

  1. Cook the brown rice first, in the simmering basket. 1 litre of water in the TM Bowl, insert the basket with the rice in it, rinse the rice by whzzing the water at speed 9 for 10 seconds. Then cook for 30 min/speed2, 100 degrees. Then put the silverbeet leaves in the varoma dish, place that on top of the TM Bowl and cook 10 minutes/varoma temp, speed 2. Set aside silverbeet leaves and rice, Clean and dry the bowl.

    Then chop garlic and onions, 3 sec spd 7.

    Add butter and cook 3 min/100 degrees/speed 1.

    Add pepper, tomato and parsley and schop 3 sec /speed 5.

    Add eggs/tuna, chilli sauce, rice, silverbeet and salt and mix 20 sec/reverseCounter-clockwise operation, speed 5.

    Pour into a loaf tin lined with baking paper and bake 40 to 50 mins at 180 degrees.

    A bit bland, easy to make

    But I don't think I'd make it again.  I used salmon instead of tuna.    Thanks.
