Esther's Mac and Cheese

  • 120 grams cheese, I like tasty but use what you like
  • 35 grams milk powder
  • 250 grams water
  • 20 gram Butter
  • 20 grams plain flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 pinch black pepper, freshly ground
  • dash Garlic powder

      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

      If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:

Recipe's preparation

  1. Place cheese into mixing bowl 3 sec speed 9 put aside for later.

    Place milk powder and water into the mixing bowl mix for 10 sec speed 5

    Place butter,flour, salt, pepper garlic and onion powders into mixing bowl.

    Put the simmering basket on top and start thicken Thickeningat 100 degrees.

    Add the reserved cheese to measuring bowl and mix for 5 sec speed 5.

    Once finshied pour over the top of the macoroni.

Tip

you can either cook 250g of macaroni in the thermomix or on the stove. If using thermomix pop into a thermosaver with a bit of water (be sure to tip water out before you add the cheese sauce.

You can use milk instead of powdered milk just skip step 2 and add 250g milk instead of water.
