    Submitted by Explorer on 16. June 2020 - 20:10.

    Fantastic!

I didn't do pumpkin but added broccoli instead. Mashed potato was perfect.. much better than the other thermo recipe which always ends up like glue.
This will now be my standard way of doing the vegies for our meat & veg meals. Smile

So I even added boiling water to my bowl to speed things up.. after 20 mins the pumpkin was still hard.. i did it for another 10 or so.. still hard so moved the pumpkin to the varoma with the carrots for another 8 or so.. still lots of spots where the pumpkin is hard.. and it’s not cut up in too big a pieces either.. think I’ll just stick to stovetop steaming 🙄🙄
i was so excited to try this after reading all the comments too..
peas are a shrivelled mess too 😫😫

I use this recipe regularly, using whatever vegetables I have in the fridge. I often just use washed potatoes cut up, leaving their skin on. This makes the mash a little lumpier, but it saves even more time and the skin has good nutrients in it.

Thanks again for a great recipe. Come back to this method again and again using potato or sweet potato and layering with whatever veges I have such as beans or brocolli. Ensure spuds are cut small and set for 25mins, then prepare other veges in Varoma setting in place with about 15-20 mins to go. tmrc_emoticons.)

Submitted by Little Kitchen Blue on 16. August 2016 - 20:02.

Was terrific!  Best mash I have made since getting my TMX.  Just make sure you cut the potatoes up into small cubes to ensure that they cook in the 20 mins, I had to extend my time by about 5 minutes as I left them a little big.

I tried this recipe with zucchinni and broccoli in the varoma tray and carrots and cauliflower in the bottom varoma tray.  I had sweet potato in the simmering basket.  I had to extend cooking time to 25 minutes for the sweet potato and the another 5 minutes for vegetables.  Vegetables could have been cooked more.  I think it would work better if I used the vegetables in the recipe.
