Pop's Gingernut Biscuits

  • 125 grams Butter
  • 150 grams golden syrup
  • 450 grams plain flour
  • 2 level teaspoons bicarbonate of soda
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 level teaspoons ground allspice
  • 1 level teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 2 level teaspoons ground ginger
  • 150 grams brown sugar

      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

  1. Melt 125grams Butter and 150 grams Golden Syrup together 40 seconds/ 50°C/ speed 2
  2. Add 450 grams Plain Flour, 2 tspns Bicarb Soda, Good Pinch Salt, 1 tspn Ground Allspice, 1 tspn Ground Cinnamon and 2 tspns Ground Ginger. Add 150 grams Brown Sugar and 1 egg.
    Mix 20 seconds / speed 3 then Dough mode2 minutes
  3. Scoop out mixture into bowl, Form into walnut sized balls, place in oven
    Bake in oven for 10 minutes 190 degrees, lower heat to 175 for another 10 minutes
