Tip
Dough loves a humid environment to proof/grow! I have great results spraying lightly with water, then placing in a warm location. You don't want the dough to dry out.

Rachandnath: On or off is personal prefernce - a lid simply creates a square loaf
If you intend to use a lid be sure to slide the lid on handle first. And get it in the oven when the dough is a couple centimetres away from the lid (it will grow ever so slightly in the oven).
