      Recipe is created for
      TM 5
Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Recipe's preparation

  1. 1.Melt sugar & butter speed 2, 50deg, 2 mins.
2.Add flours, custard powder speed 3, 20sec. While motor is going (after about 10sec) add egg. 1st 10seconds will allow flour to cool the butter & sugar & stop egg cooking!
3.Scrape bowl & repeat again till mixed well. If mixture seems too soft add a little more SR flour & mix. Mixture should hold together to knead.
4.Knead and roll between 2 pieces of baking paper until thin and transfer into oiled/buttered round tart dish (make sure there are no air pockets under the base).
    5. Cook on 160 degrees in oven for approx 10-15 minutes or until tart shell is golden brown. Cool before adding butterscotch.
  2. Butterscotch
  3. No need to wash bowl after base. Add all ingredients to bowl. 10 min varoma spd 3 mc on. Quickly transfer immediately into cooled cooked tart shell. Allow to cool slightly before putting into fridge.
Set for 2-3hours before topping with cream.
  4. Whipped Cream
  5. 1. In a clean & dry bowl. Add butterfly. Add all ingredients. Speed 3, 10 seconds. Then 5 second increments until desired thickness. Be careful not to over whip or you will end up with butter!! Add cream to cold tart.

Optional *Decorate with a drizzle of ice magic chocolate or melt your own chocolate in microwave!

Recipe can be doubled for a larger tart for parties etc. I have, see photo pictured. Made in a pyrex glass dish.
