If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

I'm not sure what Crisco or shortening are, but I adore this style of icing. Can i just use margarine or butter?

This is great! I replace the water with lemon juice for a nice citrus butter, a few times I've made this and it's so yummy. Either way you make it it's sensational x

Best icing I have made yet! Nice and firm (used copha), I added cocoa to make it chocolate and it was delicious.

Have printed it out and put it with my finger bun recipe!

Great recipe. I substituted copha for Crisco plus a few drops of water, and the icing was lovely and white & fluffy.

  • Love this recipe. Really does

Love this recipe. Really does taste just like Bakers Delight as described. It is now in my favourites. The Crisco really makes it white and fluffy. Thank you.

Thank you for recipe I have used this twice now, but replace crisco with butter, tastes great.  One day I will buy some crisco to see how that works out.
