Brandied Fruit Slice

  • 210 g plain flour
  • 100 g brown sugar
  • 130 g Butter, cut into cubes


  • 30 g Butter, diced and softened
  • 30 g brown sugar
  • 25 g golden syrup
  • 35 g self-raising flour
  • 45 g brandy
  • 90 g dried apricots
  • 90 g cranberries, dried
  • 90 g sultanas
  • 90 g slivered almonds

Recipe's preparation

  1. Place all base ingredients in TM bowl. Process for 10 seconds on Speed 5. 

  2. Press firmly into greased slice tray (28cm x 18cm). No need to clean out TM bowl.

  3. Place the apricots in TM bowl. Chop for 3 seconds on Speed 5. Set aside.

  4. Place the topping mixtures-butter,brown sugar, golden syrup, flour and brandy in TM bowl and mix for 15 seconds on Speed 6.

  5. Add all the dried fruits and nuts and mix on Speed 3 with Counter-clockwise operation for 3 seconds.

  6. Place topping mixture over base mixture and spread evenly.

  7. Bake in moderate oven at 170C -180C for 30 minutes.

  8. Cool in tin and when cold cut into slices
