  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 Cup of castor sugar
  • 1/4 cup of vegetable oil
  • 1 level teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 3 level tablespoons of cointreau
  • zest of one orange
  • 2 cups of plain flour
  • 2 level teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1/2 level teaspoon of baking soda/ bicarbonate of soda
  • 1/2 level teaspoon of salt
  • Glaze
  • 1 Cup of icing sugar
  • 3 level tablespoons of cointreau

Recipe's preparation

  1. Spray a Brunt tin with cooking/baking oil

    Pre heat oven to 160 if fan forced switch to low fan

    To your bowl add sour cream, eggs, sugar, vegetable oil, vanilla, cointreau, and orange zest - mix 1.30 minutes speed 5

    Add flour, baking powder, baking soda/bicarb, salt and mix, 30 seconds, speed 4 - do not over mix

    Pour batter into Brundt pan and cook  30-35 minutes or untill skewer comes out clean - rest for 10 minutes befor turning out

    Glaze----- mix cointreau and icing sugar together and drizzle over the cooled cake
