Awesome recipe. I didn't have almonds, so substituted peanuts. I did have to add a little more water, maybe peanuts not as moist as almonds? Omitted the cinamon, didn't think it would go well with peanuts. Rolled in coconut, as suggested .. Nice sweet treat, without being too sweet.

I used to make these before I had a Thermie - it's SO much quicker and easier with it! And the texture is better. I don't always use protein powder,  and vary the nuts and dried fruit depending on what I have or feel like. Today's variation has crystallized ginger and goji berries.  Yum!

Yum...I didn't quite have enough almonds so added about 40g cashews to make it up, and omitted the cinamon as I have run out. Really yummy, and satisfy that mid afternoon sweet craving!

  • I use this as a base for many

    Submitted by Thermo-addict on 1. January 2014 - 14:38.

I use this as a base for many of my bliss ball recipes. This recipe is fantastic, and very flexible. I, (on my second attempt at these) put in too many dates. Sticky, sticky! Hard to roll, but I learnt my lesson, and now they come out fine. I am now adding chia seeds, and styrian pumpkin seeds - DELICIOUS!
