TM 5Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!
Heat oven to 160 degrees C. Prepare Round or Square 25cm tin with baking paper.
Add all ingredients in to the Thermomix.
Gradually mix for 30 seconds, starting from speed 2 up to speed 6. Scrape down sides of bowl and repeat for 15 seconds.
Pour cake batter into tin and bake for 45-55 minutes. Check to make sure cake is cooked through with a skewer.
*This can also be made into cup cakes. Adjust cooking time accordingly.
*If making this cake for a birthday party and you plan on cutting shapes out of it etc, it is best to make it a day ahead, before decorating. This is my go-to recipe for birthdays. I decorate with a nice butter icing.
