Grandma’s Chocolate Slice

  • 145 grams brown sugar
  • 2 level teaspoons cocoa powder, 70% cocoa
  • 125 grams Butter, unsalted
  • 135 grams Self Raising Flour
  • 80 grams Desiccated Coconut

      If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
      For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees

    Crush cornflakes in bowl, 10 sec, sp 4. Place in separate bowl.

    Melt brown sugar, cocoa and butter, 1 min, 100 degrees, sp 2.

    Add flour, coconut and crushed cornflakes, 1 min sp 2.

    Press firmly into a 23 x 15cm slice tin.

    Bake for approximately 18 minutes.

    Ice when nearly cooled and cut into slices or top with chocolate melts while still hot.
