Recipe's preparation

  1. Place first 7 ingredients into TM bowl.  Blend together on speed 5 for 1 minute.

Divide mixture into three portions.  Place two portions in small mixing bowls and leave the third in the TM bowl.

Add cocoa to TM bowl.  Mix on speed 5 for 10 seconds.

Add a few drops of pink food colouring to one of the extra bowls.  Stir through.

Alternately drop spoonfuls of all three mixtures into a greased and lined loaf pan.  Continue until all mixture is used up.

Create marbled effect by swirling a
skewer back and forth through the mixture a few times.  Tap pan on bench
    to evenly distribute mixture.

Bake in a moderate oven for 1 hour - check to see if it is cooked, it may need an extra 10 minutes or so.

When cold, ice with pink icing.

I haven't made a marble cake for years but will be adding this as a regular for my family. Very easy to follow recipe and cake was lovely and moist. I may have made too much of the chocolate portion but will just watch that next time I make it. Thanks for sharing.

I've made this cake before and love it, but wanted to ask a question about freezing it. If I do freeze when and how should I defrost before icing?

    Thank you

  • This was so easy and huge hit

    Submitted by Decembergirl on 10. August 2016 - 20:33.

This was so easy and huge hit with my 5 year old. I did reduce the sugar to 150 grm and it was still very sweet, so I think we'd have found it too sweet with 220 grms of sugar. I cooked it at 160o C fan forced, for 1 hour and it was perfect.

Great recipe I have Cooked this recipe in a loaf tin. But my kids prefer them in a mini bar tin without icing. Recipe works every time soft moist but not crumbly just perfect .

  • Hi Nic31I want to make this

    Submitted by cozlet on 4. May 2015 - 16:59.

Hi Nic31I want to make this for a round birthday cake to serve 8 people and I'm guessing this mixture won't make enough. When you say you 'did the batters separately' do you mean you made the whole recipe twice? Would it work to just double everything?

    Thanks,Coralie.
