Ingredients

Panipopo (Coconut buns)

  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 3 cups Baker's Flour
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water

Recipe's preparation

    Panipopo (Coconut buns)
  1. Lightly grease a baking dish
  2. Place water into mixing bowl with active dry yeast. Heat for 2 minutes at temperature 37 on speed 1
  3. Add sugar, salt, vegetable oil, egg and 2 and 1/2 cups of flour. Knead for 10 minutes
  4. Add remaining flour. Knead for another 5 minutes
  5. Lightly flour a flat surface and roll dough out into a rectangle. Slice into 12 even strips then roll into a scroll shape. Place into baking dish until doubled in size (approx 40-60mins)
  6. While dough is rising, make the coconut sauce found on recipe community by @cookingwithkermie and Preheat oven to 200degrees
  7. Once dough has risen, pour over 1/3 of coconut sauce and place into oven for 15 minutes
  8. Pour remaining sauce over buns and cook a further 15 minutes or until tops are medium brown
