If you are using a Thermomix® TM6 measuring cup with your Thermomix® TM5:
For cooking (simmering) at temperatures of 95°C or above (200°F), the simmering basket should always be used instead of the TM6 measuring cup, as the TM6 measuring cup fits tightly in the lid. The simmering basket rests loosely on top, is steam-permeable, and also prevents food spatter from the mixing bowl.

Recipe's preparation

  1. Crush biscuits on Speed 5 for 5 seconds.

Add all other ingredients (rum is optional) and Counter-clockwise operation Speed 3 for 20 seconds.

Roll into balls and roll in a little extra coconut to coat the balls.  Rolling works best if your hands are damp.  Store in the fridge in an airtight container.

  • I have made 3 batches of this

    Submitted by Leahaha on 19. December 2014 - 09:25.

I have made 3 batches of this recipe over Christmas. I soaked saltanas in tia maria and blended then in the last step. I added a little more coconut and biscuits to make the mixture stiffer and rolled in coco powder. Very yummy. A great hit with all friends.

  • Great consistency - so easy

Submitted by Nickolls Fam on 12. November 2014 - 19:33.

Great consistency - so easy to work with and hold their shape perfectly. a little plain but I'm wondering if that's because I used red rum instead of standard so will be trying another batch with standard rum tomorrow.
