      Please note that the TM5 mixing bowl has a larger capacity than the TM31 (capacity of 2.2 liters instead of 2.0 liters for TM 31). Recipes for the Thermomix TM5 may not be cooked with a Thermomix TM31 for safety reasons without adjusting the quantities. Risk of scalding by spraying of hot liquids: Do not exceed the maximum filling quantity and observe the filling level markings of the mixing bowl!

Recipe's preparation

  1. Place ginger and water into mixing bowl and cook 1 hr/100/Counter-clockwise operation/speed 1 or until ginger is tender.

    Transer liquid and ginger into a jug. Then weigh 200 g of the ginger water and sugar into mixing bowl and cook 20
    min/100/speed 1.

    Add ginger back into mixing bowl and cook 20 min/100/Counter-clockwise operation/ speed 1.

    Divide ginger and syrup between 2 sterilised jars. Ensuring syrup covers ginger to preserve. Store in refrigerator.

Accessories you need



Stem Ginger can be used in biscuits, cakes and bread. Syrup could be added to custards, desserts and cocktails.
