This is soooooooo good! I read in the comments about adding 3 dates and a pinch of salt, so did this with mine.
I have never been able to drink store brought almond milk by itself, but I loved the flavour of this one so much. Hoping to convert my kids over, wish me luck!

I would like to suggest soaking your almonds for at least 4 hours or overnight to activate them before using in any recipes tmrc_emoticons.)

  • This is my every-day milk

    Submitted by Csoki on 21. October 2012 - 11:48.

This is my every-day milk recipe as I can't have cow's milk at all. I use it in my coffee and can steam it with my coffee machine the same as one would do with cow's milk. It is delicious. Thanks for sharing this recipe.

Yes it will separate without the emmulsifiers that are added to processed milks... no prob, as you say a quick swirl before you use it will do the trick. It will only last about 3 days though... also I use a nut bag to strain which does a great job.

I love this recipe. Such a good budget saver recipe. I live in a remote area where groceries are very expensive. I can order organic almonds online in bulk. I make this recipe (with the dates and pinch of salt too) leave in the fridge and make a new one when it runs out in 3 to 4 days. I also love that its so natural, no additives no preservatives.  tmrc_emoticons.)

Thank you for this recipe. As others have suggested, I add a pinch of sea salt and about 3 dates and it makes the most beautiful almond milk ever! I am sharing the almond milk with friends who do not have a TM and they are loving it too. tmrc_emoticons.).

  • WOW!  Just tried this recipe

    Submitted by VashtiWood on 31. August 2012 - 16:00.

WOW!  Just tried this recipe (am transitioning to vegan diet) and just WOW!

I made two additions: 3 dates and a pinch of salt.  Dairy milk has naturally occuring sugars and salts.  When I add a touch of these to my Almond Mylk, it's almost indistinguishable from dairy milk (excepting, of course, that the Almond milk is more creamy than regular dair milk).

Even though I strained my milk 2 - 3 times, when it sat in the fridge, it got quite a thick layer on the bottom of the jug, is this how its supposed to be and you just swirl it around before using it? thanks
