These are the bomb. I make them when I do a bulk load of butter and want to use up the buttermilk. I freeze them with baking paper in between and reheat for kids on weekends. They're better than maccas ones. Thank you

Amazing and fluffy - I used GF flour and they still turned out beautifully

and tasted amazing I added a dash of vanilla as we have always done with our pancakes.

i reckon I could use less sugar if you don't have a sweet tooth

    Submitted by Fisch79 on 17. January 2016 - 21:55.

Found this recipe when I searched for buttermilk recipes so decided to make savoury pancakes for dinner to go with leftover Bolognese sauce and they were a hit with my kids and husband. Light and fluffy and great with either sweet or savoury (although reduced the sugar by half). Will be making this recipe again.

    Submitted by Sill on 2. August 2015 - 11:17.

    Wow!

These were great - made them this morning for the family. I wanted them a bit thicker so I added more flour but then they were too thick so I added water! They were so light a fluffy - the mixture made 13 large pancakes - 10-15cm diameter ones. Three each was too many!

Thanks for the recipe. One I'll definitely keep using.

Make a batch of these every Monday to last the week.  They are perfect although I add a little extra milk.  Usually just use full cream not buttermilk.

Once the mixture is made, I seperate and add frozen blueberries to half the mixture.  These are also delicious!

I use a small nob of butter to cook these pancakes in and rinse the pan after doing two batches.  This way the batches of pancakes cook nicely and don't burn.

  • Delicious! Light, fluffy

Submitted by Kate Parker on 14. April 2012 - 09:53.

    Delicious! Light, fluffy pancakes.

I used a 600ml container (standard size) of Dairy Farmers Buttermilk and then just reduced the flour to 290g. I also let the mix sit for 15 minutes. For best results don't swirl the batter in the pan, just pour in and let them cook as poured. This is what makes them nice and fluffy.
